When we started as NewHangar in 2022, we had one goal: help aspiring pilots find the right flight school. Three years later, we have grown into something much bigger — a pilot hub with a digital logbook, live flight tracking, EASA exam prep, training games, an airport directory, and a thriving community of aviators across Europe.
The name Aviatr and our new tagline "Fly Further." capture this evolution. It is not just about finding where to start anymore — it is about supporting your entire aviation journey.
Why the New Name?
NewHangar served us well in the early days. It said exactly what we were: a new place to find your hangar — your flight school. But as we added a pilot logbook, EASA exam prep, training games, pilot tools, an airport directory with 3,600+ airports, live flight tracking, and a community of pilots, the name no longer told the full story.
Aviatr comes from the Latin aviator — one who flies. It is short, memorable, and speaks to everyone in aviation: student pilots, PPL holders, professionals, and enthusiasts.
